10 Unique Ice Cream Flavours You Will Only Find in Singapore

Don’t be vanilla when it comes to your ice cream flavours! With all the dessert cafes we have in Singapore, the assortment of unique flavours are aplenty. Think tiger radler, watermelon soju and yakult, to sweet potatoes, kaya bread and even parmesan cheese. With all the creative renditions of unique local flavours that we know, there’s no good reason to stick to conventional choices.

Weird and wonderful twists await! Here's the inside scoop on where you can get some of the most unique ice cream flavours in Singapore, and don’t forget to vote to let us know which is the best ice cream cafe in Singapore!

Grape Yakult Yogurt @ Merely Ice Cream

Not sure about you, but yakult was my favourite childhood drink, so to see an ice cream rendition of it truly makes my inner child sing. As the name suggests, this ice cream is made with natural Greek yogurt and everyone's favourite Yakult flavour. This is the perfect sweet treat if you don’t want to feel too guilty after!

Address: 91 Bencoolen St, #01-13 Sunshine Plaza, Singapore 189652

Opening hours: 12 pm - 9 pm (closed on Sundays)

Tiger Radler @ Butterknife Folk

Butterknife Folk has caught the attention of many through its creative flavours, such as Tiger Radler which is now available on its webstore. The ice cream shop is known for changing their flavours frequently, and last year they released a multitude of local flavours in time for National Day which includes Milo Van, Kopi Gao, and even Chicken Rice! We wonder what they have in store this year. And if you come across a flavour that you really enjoy, better buy a tub home, or you might never taste it again!

Address: 107 North Bridge Road,  #02-02 Funan Mall, Singapore 179105

Opening hours: 12 pm - 9 pm daily

Kaya Lotee @ Ice Cream Chefs

This creamy kaya-flavoured ice cream comes with chunks of toasted bread crumbs within. I don’t think there’s a Singaporean who doesn’t know bread and kaya – that’s a childhood staple many people who have grown up here would have indulged in. So it’s no surprise that this ice cream flavour is a hit with locals! Unfortunately this flavour doesn’t come in a pint, so the only way to enjoy it is to head down to their outlet.

Address: 12 Jln Kuras, Singapore 577727

Opening Hours: 12:30 pm to 10 pm (Mon - Thurs), 12 pm - 11 pm (Fri & Sat), 12 pm - 10 pm (Sun)

Singapore Chendol @ Udders

A favourite local dessert, Chendol has been reinvented into a slightly different dessert form, and we’re not complaining. This flavour first came out in 2016 for National Day, and it’s been part of Udders’ classic flavours ever since. Right now, you can purchase their Triple Joy Halal Bundle at $35.50 which consists of Singapore Chendol, Cookies & Cream and Awesomely Chocolate, or head down to one of their outlets to enjoy a scoop or two of the ice cream!

Pulut Hitam @ Island Creamery

Island Creamery released their own take on the popular local dessert which has won the hearts of ice cream lovers here –  fragrant coconut ice cream churned with chewy black glutinous rice to produce a frozen delight that might even be better than the original itself!

Watermelon Soju @ FATCAT Ice Cream Bar

Those who take delight in alcoholic ice cream flavours will find Watermelon Soju a refreshing change from the usual flavours out there, and right now they have a pick-up promotion where you can get the third pint for just $10! Apart from their ice cream, the dessert cafe is also known for their variety of desserts such as brownies, burnt cheesecake and reverse s'mores.

Opening hours: 1 pm - 10 pm (closed on Tuesdays)

Parmesan Cheese & Cream Crackers @ Tom’s Palette

Made with Parmigiano-Reggiano cheese, this ice cream is more savoury than sweet. Chunks of cheese rind are included as well, and it is well balanced out by ice cream’s creaminess and milkiness. If you need more reasons to try out a savoury ice cream – it really tastes better than it sounds!

Address: 51 Middle Rd, #01-01 Shaw Towers, Singapore 188959

Opening hours: Temporarily closed, only online pre-orders

Two Potatoes @ The Daily Scoop

Inspired by a trip to Kawagoe, Japan, this ice cream represents the love for all things sweet potato. Combining purple sweet potato ice cream with caramelised yellow sweet potato chunks, this dessert at The Daily Scoops gives you a brand new yummy way to eat your root veggies!

Blue Milk @ The Apiary

The bestseller at The Apiary, Blue Milk is a milk-based ice cream infused with blue pea flowers and seasoned with a pinch of himalayan pink salt. It may sound simple, but there's good reason why the ice cream is so popular amongst ice cream lovers: the ice cream is milky, not too sweet and it’s well balanced with a certain lightness that makes you feel like you’re eating clouds!

Yellow Brick Road (Sea Salt Gula Melaka) @ Sunday Folks

A magical blend of bananas, pecans, dates, and gula melaka mochi, all folded into Sunday Folks’ signature sea salt gula melaka ice cream. Inspired by The Wizard of Oz’s Emerald City, this treat is so good, you know it can only lead to good things.
