Homegrown ice cream brand Tom's Palette has reopened at 51 Middle Road, just a stone's throw away from its previous shop space at Shaw Towers.
Born in 2005, the ice cream parlour first garnered attention with unorthodox Asian-inspired flavors such as Salted Egg Yolk, Nasi Lemak, and Mango Sticky Rice.
Right now, customers can choose from 15 ice cream flavours including their signatures such as Granny’s Favourite, Chocolate Sorbet and White Chocolate Nori, along with one special flavour each day. Here are their specials for the week:
- Monday: Milk Tea & Brown Sugar Coffee Blondies
- Tuesday: Matcha
- Wednesday: Cherry & Chocolate Almonds
- Thursday: Tiramisu
- Friday: Savoury Crunch
- Saturday: Banana Honey Roasted Nuts
- Sunday: Pistachio
And over the course of the next few months, Tom’s Palette will be gradually increasing their offerings to 27 flavours, along with new items such as affogatos, 'Teaffogatos', parfaits, and Asian-inspired specialty teas curated by Parchmen & Co! Their new menu launch will be staggered across July and August.
We're especially looking forward to their brownie waffles that will be launching this Friday, and their ‘Teaffogato’ launching on 3 August. The 'Teaffogato’ will consist of a single scoop of gelato on a brown sugar blondie, accompanied by a shot of cold-brewed tea. Their parfaits (launching 17 Aug) also sound super decadent and sinful: think caramel apple tart with citrus shortbread crumble, apple pie filling, speculoos caramel, and all topped off with a scoop of Salted Caramel Cheesecake ice cream.
Before you head on down to their new shop space, do take note of their new social distancing measures. Along with the usual mandatory check-in and check-out, there will also be no more ice cream sampling and complimentary water served. Instead, small bottles of water will be available for sale. Tom Palette's will also no longer be accepting cash payments, and PayNow will be accepted. More updates and weekly specials will be shared on their Facebook page.
