What to Watch: J-Style Trip

In case you missed it, Jay Chou has teamed up with Netflix to bring a little magic into our lives with J-Style Trip, an entirely unscripted travel series where he travels the world with his buddies and fellow celeb pals. The 12-part travelogue series premiered on March 21, with 8 episodes out so far and new episodes released every Saturday.

Being completely unscripted, viewers are given the rare opportunity to peek into Jay’s personal life and candid moments with friends and fans. Accompanying him on the show are Funky Tu, Norman Chen and Will Tsai, along with an all-star list of special guests such as JJ Lin, Jam Hsiao, Blackie Chen, Nicholas Tse, Yohji Yamamoto, Cyril Takayama and many more.

In the show, Jay travels to eight destinations across three continents including Gold Coast, Innsbruck, Paris, Tokyo, Shenzhen, Taipei and Vienna, with Singapore as a pit stop too! The stunning views and tourism aspects in the show are as Jay experiences them – not staged presentations for tourism publicity – making it a breath of fresh air from the usual travelogue series out there.

Taking homebound viewers on virtual trips, the show is an absolute joy to watch while you're stuck at home. “I wanted to show the warmness and friendliness of people around the world, and how people connect with each other in different ways,” Jay said. True to his word, J-Style Trip is heartwarming and goofy, and it brings a much-needed dose of joy and laughter.
