Many businesses have been forced to get creative in order to adapt to the new normal, and our local flight carrier Singapore Airlines is no different. Having dropped the plans ‘flight to nowhere’, they very soon announced three new initiatives to engage customers amid the pandemic.
One of the initiatives is SIA@Home, where customers can order a home-dining experience for two created by four world-renowned International Culinary Panel chefs – the grand master of French cuisine Georges Blanc, eminent MasterChef judge Matt Moran, famed kaiseki master Yoshihiro Murata and celebrity chef extraordinaire Sanjeev Kapoor, paired with your choice of wine or champagne.
Prices start at $288 for a business-class meal for two, and $448 for a first-class meal for two.
Wine and Dine Business Class
A business-class meal for two based on choice of menu, comprising its signature satay canape, appetiser, main course and dessert. Main course options include international cuisine favourites such as Hanakoireki and roasted lamb loin.
Customers may also select either a bottle of French wine or brut champagne. In addition, they will receive a pair of business-class amenity kits by Penhaligon. Add-ons available to include tableware and more amenities.
Wine and Dine First Class
A first-class meal for two based on choice of menu, comprising its signature satay canape, Oscietra caviar, appetiser, main course and dessert. Main course options include international cuisine favourites such as poached lobster and Kyo-Kaiseki.
Customers may also select either a bottle of Burgundy red or white wine. In addition, they will receive a pair of first-class amenity kits by Lalique. Add-ons available to upgrade the wine to a champagne or include tableware and more amenities.

It is apparent that SIA is trying to make the ordering and receiving experience as seamless as possible – a team of cabin crew concierges guide you through your choices. Once the order is confirmed, customers will receive an e-mail containing a welcome message, a video from the chef whose meal they have chosen, a video from the sommelier who had picked the wines, and reheating and plating instructions, among other things.
You can even opt for the Book-the-Chef feature to add on an exclusive chef experience, where your meal will be reheated, plated and served in front of you. Although, only limited slots are available each day.
Right after SIA @ Home went live at 12 midnight, Oct 5, the orders started rolling in. And 12 hours later, they had already received 57 orders for its first and business class meals, to be delivered to homes here.
