We're all thrilled that the Ramadan bazaars are back in town, and we’re joining in on the celebrations for this Hari Raya with a list of popular bakers and their halal bakes. 1. okieco
An anagram for ‘cookie’, okieco is Muslim-owned and specialises in New York-style banana pudding. They come in five delectable flavours, are freshly made from scratch and assembled by hand. Apart from the puddings, you can also order some freshly baked banana bread, and from 8 April to 2 May 2022, you can also find them at The Grandstand!
2. Paparch
From the many times that we’ve featured them, you can tell that we truly adore Paparch and consider them the OG of Basque burnt cheesecakes. You’ll have to get in line because their bakes are highly sought-after, often creating a month-long waiting list. Made with all halal ingredients, the seven-inch cakes are great for sharing and boasts a melty cream cheese heart.
3. Sweetestchoice
Sweetestchoice is a quaint little Muslim-owned bakery along Joo Chiat Road, well known within the neighbourhood. Here you’ll find modern and traditional treats such as cakes and tarts in a variety of flavours, epok epok, kuih dadar, ondeh ondeh and lots of other kuih muih.
4. All Things Delicious (ATD)
All Things Delicious uses healthier ingredients such as organic unrefined sugar, a much better alternative to white sugar. This year, their Houseblend Granola - Ramadan Edition has made a comeback.
