So you've already got your Christmas tree, and your Christmas feast is well on its way, but Christmas isn't quite complete without the festive log cake – so take your pick from this year’s beautiful and delicious options!
Pan Pacific Singapore
Pan Pacific has rolled out not just one, or two, but four different festive log cakes! Take your pick from the Coco Pineapple Log Cake made with pineapple cremeux, caramelised pineapple compote, coconut base and coconut sponge; the Chocolate Caramel Hazelnut which features beautiful icing art and hazelnut sea salt caramel sauce; the Mao Shan Wang and Gula Melaka made with chopped caramelised macadamia sprinkled in pure Mao Shan Wang durian mousse, fluffy pandan sponge and gula melaka cream; or the IG-worthy Matcha Hazelnut which is reminiscent of a Christmas wreath and boasts a crunchy feuilletine base, rich matcha mousse and hazelnut sponge.
Raffles Patisserie
One of the most popular items at Raffles Patisserie is their kaya, so executive pastry chef Tai Chien Lin decided to incorporate it into this year's festive confectionery. The Raffles Kaya & Pineapple log cake combines French pastry techniques with Asian flavours, made up of a soft and fluffy roulade sponge enhanced with the rich and fragrant notes of kaya, encased within a medley of tangy pineapple compote, luscious kaya chantilly cream and white chocolate crunchy pearls. The cake has also been fashioned vertically instead of the usual horizontal style, making it a treat for the eyes too!
The Ritz-Carlton, Millenia Singapore
Ritz-Carlton's Colony Bakery has taken the traditional Yule log and zhuzh-ed it up with champagne. But the real treat lies within the gold-dusted chocolate shell – a champagne jelly core with a filling of orange chocolate, strawberry and lychee ganache, and a trio of dark, milk and white chocolate sponge. We're not sure how much more indulgent it can get!
The Marmalade Pantry
Looking for a log cake with an Asian twist? The Marmalade Pantry has crafted a Pandan Gula Melaka Log Cake, paying homage to Nyonya flavours and other Southeast Asian ingredients. This log cake is made with a light and airy pandan sponge cake rolled with light buttercream, gula melaka and coconut flakes, and then encased in fresh whipped cream. If you prefer more traditional flavours, go with their signature Truffle Chocolate Log Cake – a chocolate sponge cake with chocolate creme around a chocolate flummery centre and coated with chocolate crumble.
Cafe&Meal Muji
Looking for something different from the usual chocolate or Asian-inspired flavours? Cafe&Meal Muji has a refreshing Caramel Apple Logcake – a merriment of smooth, velvety caramel apple mousse layered with vanilla sponge and caramelised apple filling, coated with matcha cristal glaze and garnished with fresh apples and crunchy almond praline. There’s also the Strawberry Fraisier Logcake featuring decadent layers of mascarpone cream, strawberry jelly and fluffy vanilla sponge cake, a strawberry glaze with caramelised almond praline and fresh strawberries.
25Grams Bakery
Here's something for those on a gluten and dairy-free diet – you may have already heard of 25Grams Bakery, an online bakery that had humble beginnings creating mini cupcakes. Today, they've moved on to heftier creations, such as the Rich Delish Choc Log Cake. This Christmas treat is gluten-free and dairy-free, making it perfect if you or your guests are allergic to these ingredients.
Cat and the Fiddle
Known for their delectable cheesecakes, Cat and the Fiddle is ringing in the festive season with a Fantasy in the Woods log cake. This roulade creation is made with velvety chocolate cheese filled with hazelnut crisps and a tart raspberry mousse center. This creamy treat promises to enthrall your taste buds with a uniquely indulgent experience. And if you didn't know already, all their creations are halal-certified!
