15 Stalls You Must Try at Changi Village Hawker Centre
An idyllic village in the pre-war years, Changi Point was turned into a resort destination after World War II in order to give the district a new lease of life. Part of this new plan was to build a new housing estate at Changi Village with a modern market and hawker centre, which was completed in 1975. By the 1980s, the new hawker centre was most crowded during lunch time, thronged by soldiers and air force personnel from nearby camps, workers from the airport and the Loyang Industrial Estate. Today, Changi Village Hawker Centre has become a dining spot set within a laid-back environment, where patrons come for its popular cuisine including the famous nasi lemak. In the evenings, nearby residents gather to hang out. Despite renovations over the years, the hawker centre has retained its old charm and laid-back atmosphere. Without further ado, here are 15 stalls you must try!
