Japanese Dumplings
While you might struggle to find the Japanese element in the Japanese Dumplings (S$6.10), they are actually a combination of Japanese gyozas and Cantonese har gow! Shaped like a gyoza but steamed like har gow, each translucent dumpling encased prawns, black fungus and minced meat. Each dumpling was plump and stuffed full of ingredients, with a good crunch from the prawns. Tiny pieces of red chilli also provided some heat to create a nice balance to the vinegary sauce.
