Want to Eat for a Living? Foodpanda Is Hiring a CMO – Chief Makan Officer

Are you a self-proclaimed foodie who’s bored of your desk-bound job and wants to eat your heart out around our little island? We may have the dream job for you – Foodpanda is looking for a CMO aka Chief Makan Officer.

That’s right folks, if eating is what you do best, FoodPanda is looking to pay you to eat to your heart’s content.

According to the job posting, you’ll need to possess the ability to:

  • Navigate hawker centres with your eyes closed.
  • Visit restaurant partners to taste their food and produce mouth-watering content.
  • Be a foodie-teller, as you'll need to predict which cafes will become the next ‘it’ brunch spots.
  • Make people drool from all the good food you'll be feasting on!

Successful applicants will be paid a $1,000 monthly salary, along with an extra $5,000 allowance to eat or purchase edible items for content.

You will also travel around Singapore to savour the food from 15,000 different restaurant partners, and document your food adventures where your stories will be shared on Foodpanda's social media pages.

Additionally, you will also be tasked to conceptualise and execute creative food-themed content showcasing offerings from Foodpanda shops and Pandamart.

Of course, you will also enjoy perks such as gaining exclusive access to select restaurants and Pandamart warehouses!

Although the contract offered for the role of CMO only lasts for three months, you can also get the opportunity to collaborate with Foodpanda as a food influencer after the three-month gig!

So if your dream is to become the next Ladyironchef or Miss Tam Chiak, or you just want a (paid) excuse to stuff yourself silly with food, you know what to do!

But, we should also note that there seems to be certain risks involved…

For one, Foodpanda will not be held accountable for any weight gain that comes from the job.

Which means that ideally, a high metabolism should be one of the job criteria as well.

Other requirements include being a Singapore or PR. Having a history of eating during lecture will also be counted as a relevant job experience.

Got your attention now? Applications for the role will open from Tuesday (Dec 1) and will run for two weeks until Dec 15.

Interested candidates can apply by sending in a one-minute video via Foodpanda's LinkedIn page or through its website.

An example of a video resume can be in the style of a mukbang. Show your appetite for creativity!
