Take Part in a Month-Long Songkran Festival At Wild Wild Wet

Missing the Land of Smiles? Wild Wild Wet is bringing a piece of Thailand to us with its Songkran Water Fest 2021.

In case you’ve been living under a rock, Songkran is the Thai New Year which falls on April 13 every year. It is known as a water festival where major streets are closed and used as arenas for water fights. Celebrants, young and old, participate in this tradition by splashing water on one another.

The festival isn't just limited to the Thais and over the last few years many Singaporeans have hopped on a flight to join in the festivities. Unfortunately, we weren’t able to do that last year and it seems like this year is a goner too, no thanks to the pandemic.

Thankfully, Wild Wild Wet is here to ease our wanderlust. From 1 – 30 April 2021, here’s what you can expect.

Daily water gun battles

A standard trip to Wild Wild Wet would usually involve packing a swimsuit and sunscreen. But this April, make sure to bring along the water guns, super soakers and water blasters that you have!

This is because water gun battles will take place every day between 3-5pm. There’ll be staff walking about with their own water guns spewing water, so you’ll want to be armed with something powerful to deliver some sprays back!

If you don’t have your own water gun, fret not as there will be 50 water guns distributed at the entry point, on a first-come-first-serve basis.

Spinning targets at Shiok River

Apart from your friends, you can also take aim at spinning targets while you leisurely float down the Shiok River. Flaunt your marksmanship and take on your friends in a friendly match!

To set the mood, EDM will be blasting throughout the theme park, so you can groove to the beat while you spray down your targets.

Kid-friendly activities

Got young ones in tow? There’ll be water guns for kids to play with! There will also be 2D Thai-themed figurines placed in the shallow waters at the Professor's Playground attraction.

Take note that due to safe distancing measures, a maximum of 50 people will be allowed at the Shiok River and Professor's Playground at any one time.

Refuel at Ola Beach Club

After the water fights and rides, refuel at Ola Beach Club which will be serving a special menu which includes Thai milk tea and other Thai snacks and beverages!

So far, this is what we know, and not all of the details have been revealed. We hear that there’ll also be a giant Super Soaker targeting unsuspecting park-goers, so watch out for that! There will also be Thai-styled decor, which includes an actual tuk-tuk!

We appreciate Wild Wild Wet bringing a piece of Thailand to us – makes the travel restrictions easier to bear! Tickets start from $20 each for a weekday pass which includes a $5 Ola Beach Club Voucher. You can also use your SingapoRediscover vouchers if you book through Klook!
