A prawn mee that found its place in the Michelin Guide, Jalan Sultan Prawn Mee was awarded the Michelin Plate for its signature dish. An offshoot from the same family behind Beach Road Prawn Mee, you might find similarities in how both broths taste. It is lighter than some of the other stalls, although it is still rich with the sweetness of prawns. The menu is straightforward – just different combinations of prawns, pork ribs and noodles. The fresh prawns also come in two sizes – regular and king. A bowl starts from $6, although most people would recommend the King Prawn Pork Ribs Noodle!

4. Seng Huat Prawn Noodles
Seng Huat Prawn Noodles needs no introduction, and 30 over years later they still draw in queues for their tasty and affordable prawn noodles. If you want to get a taste, then you better get an early start because the stall is only open from 6am to 12pm, Fridays to Mondays. Affordably priced at $3.50, you get lots of ingredients with prawns, pork slices, fish cake and of course rich umami soup. We should also mention that the dry version here is truly exceptional. In fact, it’s one of the few prawn noodle stalls in Singapore that we prefer the dry version over soup!

Throughout the years, Whitley Road Prawn Noodles has been a mainstay in the most popular prawn noodles in Singapore. Their Old Airport Road branch was even awarded the Michelin Plate in 2019! The bowl of noodles may look plain but it sure packs a punch. The robust prawn stock is just the right amount of sweet and briny. The fresh plump prawns, fried scallions, fragrant lard and al dente noodles all come together to create a satisfyingly harmonious dish. It’s not hard to see why they’re regarded as one of the OGs in the scene!
