5 New Cafes to Visit in Singapore

Like everyone else, we’re thrilled that gatherings can now involve more people. Round up your crew because there are many great places to explore in Singapore in 2022, whether you’re looking to grab some coffee, desserts, or even to enjoy the company of several adorable doggies! Here are our top picks of the 5 best new cafes to visit in Singapore!

1. La Levain SG

We can’t get enough of great bakeries, and one of the newest kids on the block is La Levain SG. Helmed by executive chef Wythe Ng who’s from Keong Saik Bakery and Bakery Brera, you’ll find freshly baked classics like kouign amann and pain au chocolat, but also more modern creations like the bo bo cha cha croissant and hojicha mochi croissant. While you’re there, make sure to try out some of their famous cruffins too!

2. Cowpresso Coffee Roasters

This new cafe at Lorong Kilat boasts of a showroom to display coffee machines and host coffee appreciation events, so you know these guys are serious about their craft! During the day, enjoy some Croque Madame, berry jam or chocolate donuts to go with your coffee. Come nightfall, the cafe takes a different twist with neon lights, wines and heartier mains!

3. 99 Old Trees

This local durian specialist recently made the move to a new space in Outram Park, and we love the spotlight on the king of fruits through hand-painted murals on its exterior. Inside, the atmosphere is warm and inviting. Stay for their delightful desserts, such as the Stinky Bomb, which are choux puffs filled with durian filling, or the Stinky Bowl if you’re a durian mousse fan!

4. Coexist Coffee Co. Paya Lebar

We know Coexist Coffee isn’t new, and they’ve been regularly drawing folks to the West just for their coffee and breakfast. If you’re also one of their fans, you’ll be glad to know that they recently opened a new outlet at Paya Lebar. With sleek, IG-worthy monochrome interiors and equally good food and coffee, the outlet spans two floors and is their largest space yet. Get a counter seat or head upstairs for more privacy!

5. Vanda Botanical Desserts

Italian techniques and fruits, spices and herbs of Asia come together at Vanda Botanical. Everything is crafted by Italian Chef Loris Massimini, an apprentice of the legendary Manuele Presenti of Chiccheria Gelateria, one of the best gelato shops in Italy. Expect fragrances, florals and fruitiness unlike any other. Flavours include Chrysanthemum and Goji Berry, Coconut Pandan, Yogurt Raspberry, Poached Pear Walnut and more!

6. What The Pug

What The Pug is Singapore’s first pug cafe, and it’s home to 12 adorably squishy pugs. Unfortunately they do not serve food for humans, but these adorable puppers will most definitely fill up your heart. Each play session lasts 45 minutes and costs $20/pax. We hear that the pugs are incredibly friendly and some will not hesitate to crawl in your lap!
