IKEA Launches New Menu With Salted Egg Chicken Wings, Crayfish and More

Ever since IKEA’s restaurants reopened in Phase 2, many of us have been gorging ourselves on their iconic meatballs. In fact, we missed them so much we even made our own during the circuit breaker. Need another excuse to head there again? IKEA has a new menu, which also includes the IKEA Salted Egg Chicken Wings!

The Salted Egg Chicken Wings were a hit last year, and it's back this year for $9.50 for six whole wings, which is just a little bit more than the $8.50 for six of the Regular Wings. As if you need more reasons to love their chicken wings, IKEA prides itself on using only meat from indoor cage-free chickens!

Other than the Salted Egg Chicken Wings, IKEA is also introducing a Breaded Chicken Cutlet With Salted Egg Sauce ($8.90), which is perfect for those of you who don’t like to deal with bones and love all things generously draped in sauce. This dish comes with a side of fries, which means you can also have salted egg fries!

Both salted egg dishes will be available till 30 Nov 2020.

You can also look forward to the Crayfish In Dill Brine ($5), and we're all for more seafood additions to the menu. Much like the permanent Cold Water Prawns ($4.50), the crayfish are also sustainably-fished. Make your trip soon, because it will only be available till 30 Sep 2020.

Lastly for the vegetarians, say goodbye to feeling left out on IKEA's trips, because IKEA’s new menu also features Vegetable Balls With Curry Coconut Sauce ($5) – 8 veggies balls along with a side of boiled vegetables and potato curry. They'll remain on the menu till 31 Dec 2020!

And from October 12 onwards, IKEA restaurant will also be introducing the Plant Ball, a sustainable and meatless alternative to the iconic meatballs. Made with plant-based ingredients, it's been said that the plant ball is equally tasty, and leaves behind a climate footprint that’s only four per cent of its meaty counterpart. It will also be available at the Swedish Food Market, so you are more than welcome to buy some home with you.
