6 Most Beautiful Cycling Routes in Singapore

By the looks of it, it seems like cycling is fast becoming a Singaporean hobby. Other than popular spots like East Coast Park, there are many cycling routes across the island to get acquainted with. Not to mention, it’s a great way of getting in some exercise! Here are some of the most beautiful cycling routes in Singapore for weekend or night cycling adventures.

1. Rower's Bay Park

Part of the first phase of the Round Island Route, a continuous 150-kilometre park connector circling the island, Rower's Bay Park is intended as a rest stop connecting Yishun and Punggol. It also makes for a leisurely morning or evening cycling spot, as the park is family and kid-friendly! The boardwalk takes you right to the edge of Seletar Reservoir, and there are also lots of areas to soak up mother nature.

2. Round Island Route (Eastern Half)

Looking for more of a challenge? Starting from Rower’s Bay Park, you can continue all the way down to Labrador on this 75km route that covers the eastern part of Singapore. Along the way, admire the tranquil scenery and enjoy the sea breeze. Choose to stop whenever you want, either for a break at the many rest stops or the lookout points for photo ops!

3. Coast-to-Coast (C2C) Trail

The Coast-to-Coast (C2C) Trail stretches 36 kilometres and cuts across the island, linking Jurong Lake Gardens in the west with Coney Island in the northeast. It traverses some of Singapore’s best parks and nature reserves like Bukit Batok Nature Park and Hindhede, MacRitchie Reservoir and Punggol Waterway Park. Rest stop-wise, if you’re passing through Adam Road, a stop at the hawker centre is a must!

4. St. John's & Lazarus Island

Prefer to do some urban exploration instead? Hop on a ferry and take a day trip to the Southern islands. St. John's and Lazarus Island are connected by a causeway, which means easy access to exploring all nature and wildlife that the islands have to offer. Enjoy a moderate workout as you cruise along the green spaces and admire the sea views!

5. Mount Faber Loop

This route might just be 3-kilometre but don’t let its short distance fool you. The Mount Faber Loop is sure to give you a hard workout. Don’t forget this is the highest peak in Singapore! If you’re looking to #levelup your fitness the elevation of the slopes here will make it a great training spot. At the top, take in the scenic views of Singapore’s skyline and harbour.

6. Ketam MTB Trail

Located in Pulau Ubin and a short ferry ride away, this cycling route is completely free of traffic and offers 10-kilometre of mountain-bike trails and off-road adventure for riders of different levels. The fast, bumpy descent back to sea level is sure to thrill your inner adrenaline-seeker. Else, you can just cycle around the island and connect with nature!
