Advanced Bookings Required For Sentosa Beachgoers During Peak Periods From 17 Oct Onwards

As part of enhanced Covid-19 safety and crowd management measures, Sentosa beachgoers will be required to make advanced bookings for peak periods.

In a media release by Sentosa Development Corporation (SDC) on Wednesday (Sep 23), entry into Sentosa's Tanjong, Palawan and Siloso beaches during peak periods (such as weekends and public holidays) will be by reservation only from 17 Oct 2020 onwards, with visitors required to book their slots online.

Beachgoers may choose from two five-hour time slots: 8am to 1pm or 2pm to 7pm. Bookings will be open from 10 Oct onwards and they can be made up to seven days in advance.

Guests will not need to pre-book on weekdays, though entry is subject to capacity limits.

This new procedure was introduced to improve safety for beachgoers, as large crowds have been observed at these sites during peak periods. The system is aimed at facilitating safe management measures and to reduce queues and waiting times to enter the beaches.

In line with safe distancing measures, Tanjong, Palawan and Siloso beaches have been divided into seven zones, each with a capacity of between 100 and 350.

On the day of your visit, head to the Beach Entry Kiosk in your selected zone and present your email confirmation. Upon verification, you’ll be issued a wristband for admission into the beach zone. You’ll have access to the selected beach zone only for your reserved timeslot.

Guests who decide to change their plans after making a booking are reminded to cancel their reservations and give up their slots to other guests.

Beachgoers will also have to observe current safe distancing measures such as checking in and out via SafeEntry, and wearing a mask at all times, except when consuming food and drinks or engaging in sports activities.

In addition, "safety rings" indicating spots where groups of up to five people can gather have progressively been put in place on the beaches. Visitors should also keep within the demarcated area and observe a minimum safe distance of 1m from other groups and guests.

The 15 beach courts at Tanjong, Palawan and Siloso beaches will also be up for bookings. So if you’re looking for a game of beach volleyball, you’ll need to book these game courts. Guests who book beach courts will not be required to make a separate booking for beach entry. And like standard safe distancing rules, no intermingling is allowed between different groups of players or across courts.

According to SDC, the reservation-only entry system into Sentosa’s beaches will be trialled for three months, with reviews and adjustments made where necessary. SDC’s safe distancing ambassadors and enforcement officers will also regularly patrol and take enforcement action on individuals or businesses who flout the rules.
