Mantul Ayam Penyet
Mantul Ayam Penyet moved to Ayer Rajah Food Centre a few months ago and though the prices are a tad higher than what you would usually pay for local fare, the extra large whole chicken leg more than makes up for it. Marinated overnight and infused with spices, the recipe is handed down from the owner’s grandmother, and requires the dish to be slow-cooked for two hours. What’s also special about the stall is that they serve a modern rendition of the dish with salted egg sauce! And apart from chicken, you’ll also find prawn and sotong penyet sets here.
