Yu Mei Mei Shi

Located at the corner of Havelock Road Food Centre is Yu Mei Mei Shi, which specialises in fish soup and has been around for over 20 years. The stall offers a slightly wider variety than the usual, so besides the commonly found batang fish, they also have prawns and red grouper, as well as more unusual items such as fish roe and shirako. The soup base may look light and clear, but it is actually very sweet and flavourful.
