Hilltop Hokkien Mee

Run by three young hawkers, Hilltop is a relatively new stall in Empress Road Food Centre selling fried hokkien mee. It quickly gained popularity as it’s the only stall serving the dish here. A plate of their signature includes yellow noodles with a higher ratio of thick bee hoon than what you’d usually find. It is of the wetter variety and also comes with two large prawns, squid, pork belly slices, a lime and garnished with some crispy pork lards! The belachan chilli is slightly citrusy and pairs well with the noodles.
