Tomato Coffee and Salted Egg Boba? Flavours Beyond What You Can Imagine At Beyond Coffee

While new bubble tea places seem to be constantly popping up, the menu of this new shop at Vivocity may make you do a double take. The founders of Beyond Coffee said that they wanted to introduce beverages that were not run-of-the-mill flavours, and they do what their name suggests ─ bringing concoctions that take us beyond our existing ideas of coffee-based drinks.

Offering 20 items on their menu, their drinks are built from a base of locally-roasted coffee, layered with fresh fruit that’s carefully selected to pair with each drink. All of them are freshly juiced and blended to order!

Here are some interesting flavours to try:

Tomato Tango

The Tomato Tango ($7.50) is described to be a savoury drink that comprises coffee blended with cherry tomatoes and topped with seaweed and fresh mint. It’s definitely something different! Try it for yourself and see what you think.

Something About Mary

The flavours in this coffee ($7.50) is heightened and enhanced with the addition of herbs like burnt rosemary and mint, paired with passionfruit and apple.

Crack Me Up

Beyond Coffee is probably one of the first, if not the first store in Singapore that has popping boba. Enjoy a fun ticklish sensation in your mouth that ends with a burst of brown sugar! This sweet and savoury milkshake ($7.50) features salted egg yolk biscuits blended with milk and topped with popping boba pearls.

For the less adventurous or tea lovers, there are lots of choices for you too!

Melaka Rhapsody

For the Melaka Rhapsody ($5.90), you can choose between a coffee or tea base. The coffee-based one comes with beautiful swirls of coffee, gula melaka boba, coffee jelly, and surprisingly – cheese foam! The sweet gula melaka is nicely toned down and complemented by it.

Fruity Paradise

The Fruity Paradise ($7.90) is a hot favourite amongst tea lovers. Made with Taiwanese oolong and an invigorating blend of watermelon, orange, passionfruit, lemon and lime, you can definitely taste the care taken into curating the best ratio of these ingredients together.

Momotaro

Momotaro ($7.90) is a dreamy blend of chopped fresh peaches, strawberries and jasmine tea, generously topped with a thick layer of cheese foam. The pieces of fruits add a fresh bite that keeps the creamy drink from being too jelak.

Beyond Coffee isn’t just for the adventurous, it’s for anyone who enjoys a good drink. With every drink here, you can taste that there is a conscious effort to bring together a blend of flavours that harmonise with each other. Come with an open mind and you’ll surely find something you like!
