5 Oyster Bars in Singapore For the Freshest Shucks

From chilli crabs to lobster rolls and barbecue stingray, Singaporeans love seafood. And sometimes, that includes raw oysters too! Be it briny and tasting like the ocean or plump and sweet, the range of oyster flavours just keeps us coming back for more. These oyster bars in Singapore will be more than happy to help you satisfy your cravings!

1. Culina at Como Dempsey

Dempsey Hill is home to lots of great food, but the spot to go to when you’re craving for oysters here is undoubtedly Culina. The menu is ever-changing as the restaurant serves up a weekly selection of oysters that are freshly air-flown to Singapore. If you’re lucky and it happens to be available while you’re there, make sure to try the French Gillardeau oyster. It is consistently ranked as one of France’s top three best oysters!

2. Angie’s Oyster Bar

Angie’s has a different menu now after its move to Tan Boon Liat Building, but what remains the same is their focus on fresh oysters. They are freshly shucked upon order, and you’ll find a daily selection from classics, to rare and seasonal. Try to come during their oyster happy hour from 5 to 6.30pm Mondays to Thursdays – each oyster will cost you just $1.50 a pop!

3. Kakiin Oyster Bar

Hidden away within Orchard Plaza, Kakiin Oyster Bar is a cosy Japanese izakaya that prides themselves on the freshest of oysters. You’ll be able to get a taste from all over the world, from New Zealand to Canada! While we love its oysters offerings, they also have a yummy selection of light bites and teppanyaki dishes. And as with all izakaya, you’ll have the usual suspects of sake and Japanese liquors!

4. DB Bistro & Oyster Bar

Much like Dempsey, Marina Bay Sands also boasts a plethora of gourmet food, including oysters! At DB Bistro & Oyster Bar, enjoy a smorgasbord of the ocean’s freshest bounties. While you’re at it, make sure to also try Chef Daniel Boulud’s signature Oysters Vanderbilt and enjoy other oceanic delights like blue crab salad, tuna tartare and the luxurious Kaluga caviar.

5. Tanuki Raw

Take your pick from Japanese, French and Canadian oysters at Tanuki Raw! A popular spot with shellfish lovers, oysters start at just $2 during happy hour! Our favourite is the OG raw oyster, but if you’re feeling adventurous you can also try it with a splash of flavour, such as oyster with truffle soy sauce, mentai oyster, and ikura oyster!
