Joo Chiat Prawn Mee

Joo Chiat Prawn Mee has a long history and is part of the Lee family prawn mee empire, sharing ancestry with other big names such as Blanco Court Prawn Mee, Beach Road Prawn Mee, Blanco Prawn Noodle House, and Jalan Sultan Prawn Mee. After a five-year hiatus, the stall has reopened, this time in Ayer Rajah Food Centre where it continues to serve hearty bowls of Prawn Noodles with its signature chilli powder. The broth here is rich, sweet and umami-laden, while the dry version is cooked with shallot oil and tossed in a savoury sauce. The prawns are fresh and sweet, with the head still attached so you can suck out their juicy goodness!
