Uncle Lai

If you have never heard of Heng Hwa Cuisine, you must have at least heard of the popular chain restaurant Putien. Uncle Lai at 85 Bedok offer Heng Hwa-styled Zi Char dishes, which hail from the coastal areas of the Fu Jian province in China. Offering traditional dishes like Caramelised Yam ($10), Sweet and Sour Century Egg ($6) and Silken Tofu ($8), Uncle Lai’s dishes whisper a familiar but foreign flavour to your tastebuds. Other than dishes to share, you can also try their Golden Seafood Fried Rice ($6) and Longevity Mee Sua ($6)! They are open from 11 AM till 9 PM (Thu – Mon), 3 PM – 9 PM (Wed) and are off on Tuesdays!
