The Thunder Tea Story

Amongst all the heavy hawker delicacies is a humble stall run by a mother-son duo. There is only one item on the menu here – Thunder Tea rice, a traditional Hakka dish that stands out with a nutritious mix of greens, grains and legumes. You can also opt to replace the white rice with brown rice if you're feeling extra healthy. On the side is a bowl of swampy green soup that, unlike its intimidating appearance, is fresh, vegetal and herbaceous.
